Maria Aparecida da Silva Bento, or Cida Bento, was born in São Paulo (SP). PhD in psychology, in 2002 she defended the thesis entitled "Narcissistic pacts in racism: whiteness and power in business organizations and public authorities". She is a counselor and one of the founders of the Center for the Study of Labor Relations and Inequalities (Ceert). She was a visiting professor at the University of Texas and, in 2015, was chosen by the British magazine The Economist as one of the fifty most influential people in the world in the field of diversity.
