Master in Education from the Université Du Quebec à Montreal / Canada, Graduated in Vernacular Literature and Degree in Portuguese from UFBA, winner of the Human Rights award from the Ministry of Justice in 2003; Rector of the State University of Bahia (1998-2005) getting closer to Local Social Movements, carrying out joint work with Civil Society. Created the Teacher Training Program - Uneb 2000 Network, today with approximately 10,000 graduated teachers in 275 municipalities in Bahia. Enabled the operation of community pre-university courses for people of African descent, implementing exemption from selection fees (entrance exams) for students from these courses; establishing quotas for people of African descent at the university in 2002. Professional with multiple knowledge, socially and emotionally recognized, laureate, representative of different sectors of Civil Society, the Knowledge Society, different levels and structures of power and knowledge. He served, generally as a member of renowned knowledge, on the State Councils: Education, Development of Black Communities, Policies for Indigenous Peoples, Human Rights, Policies for Women, and the National Council for the Promotion of Racial Equality and IPHAN. She served as Superintendent of Human Rights at the Secretariat of Justice, Citizenship and Human Rights of the State Government and currently as Secretary of Reparations at the Municipality of Salvador, where she develops the programs – Salvador sem Racismo, through the Program to Combat Institutional Racism (PCRI ), from the Observatory of Racial Discrimination and LGBT Violence Against Women, Seal of Ethnic-Racial Diversity and support for traditional communities, quilombolas and Candomblé terreiros, Affirmative Actions for black people and the LGBT+ community based on the Seal of LGBT+ Diversity. Ivete was born in the city of Salvador, is a widow, mother of three children; Djara Mahim, Tansir Omoni and James Akim; and grandmother of Enzo Akin and Ben Akim. In parallel to her academic life, Ivete has always been linked to the fight against racism and the defense of citizenship and human rights, with an emphasis on black communities, LGBT+ communities, the elderly, children, teenagers, and LGBTQIA+ citizenship.
