Márcia Regina de Lima Silva is the Secretariat for Affirmative Action Policies, Combating and Overcoming Racism at the Ministry of Racial Equality. Professor at the Department of Sociology at the University of São Paulo. She is a senior researcher associated with the Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (CEBRAP), where she coordinated the AFRO-Center for Research and Training in Race, Gender, and Racial Justice. She has a PhD in Sociology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2001). He held a Post-Doctorate at the University of Columbia (2011-2012) and was a Visiting Fellow at the Afro-Latin American Research Institute (ALARI) of the Hutchins Center for African and African American Studies at Harvard University (2016-2017). Its research themes are racial inequalities and race relations, with an emphasis on gender and race, education, the labor market, and affirmative action policies.
