Nana Appiah-Korang

Nana is an executive with 24 years of experience in private equity, entrepreneurship and philanthropy. She began her career at Goldman Sachs in New York where she was introduced to private equity. She, however, pivoted and joined the private equity firm, Emerging Capital Partners, to invest in companies in Africa.She was initially based in Washington, DC but moved to Nigeria in 2011 to cover the firm’s Anglophone West Africa portfolio. In total, she spent over 16 years at the firm. Ms. Appiah-Korang is currently a consultant who works with institutions on the private equity/ fund of fund strategy. She sits on a number of Investment Committees focused on Africa private equity or fund of funds. She is also on the board of Vanguard Assurance in Ghana. She is also the co-founder of Amayi Foods Limited, a Nigeria based female founded and female led food systems platform which has been innovative in impact and localization.Amayi is a leader in developing local solutions for inputs which have been historically only imported into Nigeria. She is also leading the company’s expansion into the US. Ms. Appiah-Korang is also passionate about education and sits on the board of a number of initiatives including Image Worldwide, Dikan, Akua Kuenyehia Foundation and the Child2Child Book Foundation, a non-profit set up by her daughters and two of their friends.
